4. Exercise 4: editing an item
- Switch to the Firefox window containing OXITEMS.
- In the menu on the left hand side under Operations for authors, you will see an operation labelled Edit an item.
- Click on this link.
- You should get a page headed Edit/remove items with a pull down menu containing the newsfeeds where you can edit items.

Click on the newsfeed with the name
running/username where username is replaced by your Oxford username. -
Click on the button labelled
edit/remove items of the selected newsfeed. - You should get a page headed Edit/remove items containing a menu of items.
- However, there is only one item in this newsfeed and this has already been selected.

Now click on the button labelled
edit the selected item. - You should get a page headed Add/edit/remove items containing a lot of boxes.

Alter the time given in the summary box.
It currently says 5.30pm.
Change the summary box
so that it now contains
some text like:
Meet outside the University Club at 6pm -
Now click on the button labelled
preview the item with the above values. - You should now get a web page giving the new details of the item. Once again, there are two buttons. The first one allows you to make changes to this item. The second button allows you to change the item in the newsfeed.

Click on the button labelled
now change the item in the newsfeed - It should report that The values of this item have now been changed.
